EMA rejects data requests after EU court decision

The European Medicines Agency has denied some requests for clinical study reports and other documents while the European General Court considers a case brought by drugmakers AbbVie and InterMune to block the release of some trial data. "If AbbVie and InterMune win their cases, there is a real chance that EMA’s revolution in data transparency will come to an abrupt end, returning us to the old status quo of data secrecy," said Johns Hopkins University researcher Peter Doshi in a statement issued by transparency advocacy group Sense About Science.
