ESPN rivals will end up "distant No. 2," Disney CFO says

ESPN has no intention of ceding its spot as the top-rated sports network, even with the arrival of new competition from NBC Sports, the soon-to-launch Fox Sports 1 and other new channels, said Jay Rasulo, senior executive vice president and chief financial officer of ESPN parent Walt Disney Co. "People are going to spend a lot of money for rights, but they are going to end up a distant No. 2," Rasulo said at a conference in New York.
