Financial firms continue to face major risks as 2013 progresses: volume of changes, complexity, suitability, skills and governance. Risks involving volume of changes and complexity stem from an unprecedented amount of new rules and the potential issue of instituting overly complex changes to adapt to those rules. Risks with suitability, skills and governance could come from a firm's inability to monitor and adapt business practices and self-regulation.
