HTML5 developer adoption is rising despite Zuckerberg slam

Microsoft's move to make HTML5 and JavaScript key to application development on Windows 8 and Internet Explorer has industry observers saying HTML5, JavaScript and CSS are on the rise. Sencha CEO Michael Mullany and his team built a Facebook app called Fastbook with HTML5 just to counter Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's anti-HTML5 comments. "[P]eople have realized that putting a huge amount of engineering investment into native application development isn't a super-smart move given the market share volatility among mobile devices in the last few years. HTML5 is looking really to them as the future-proof investment," Mullany said.
