Most of the time, innovation comes to those who are willing to take a leap of faith and not be easily dissuaded, says James R. Houghton, former chairman and CEO of Corning. "I think it's just having faith in the future and being able to say to yourself, 'We don't know what's going to happen but if you spend money on research, something good will happen and therefore it's worth doing,'&bnsp;" he says.
