Kingfisher looks forward to improving UK home sales

Cold weather in March and early April delayed sales of outdoor products at UK-based home improvement chain Kingfisher, leading to declines in same-store sales and a 28% drop in first-quarter retail earnings, the company said. Home prices and mortgage approvals are on the rise, spurring optimism for a rebound in home-improvement goods sales, said CEO Ian Cheshire.
