Quickservice restaurants find geotargeting ads cook up traffic

Some sort of location targeting of mobile customers is being practiced by 70% of quickservice and fast casual restaurants, according to Verve Mobile. Most marketers are using geotargeting of designated marketing areas and the ads are working: Location-targeting ads are getting twice the click-thru response as ads not using them. One casual dining chain saw a 3.9 times greater lift in foot traffic by using geofencing ads, as well as a 20% reduction in competitors' business, writes Mark Walsh.
