Students and teachers at the Center for Innovative Learning in Aiken, S.C., have collected $4,881 worth of their "CIL bucks" to help families devastated by the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma. The American Red Cross office will work to turn the pretend money, which are rewards for doing good things in school, into real donations in support of the students' efforts. "They are learning empathy, learning to share with others and to give of themselves. I think that's one of the most important lessons of life," teacher Lisa Raiford said.
