States: Medicaid managed care is ready for more beneficiaries

A survey by the Urban Institute found that Medicaid managed care programs are prepared to receive new enrollees as the Affordable Care Act extends health coverage to the poor. The programs will adapt to more beneficiaries because of previous reforms, according to eight states that participated in the survey. By 2022, enrollment is projected to range among those states from 23% in New York to 102% in Oregon.
