ComScore research shows that tablet traffic now accounts for 8% of all U.K. Web traffic. This finding prompted British newspaper Metro to relaunch its site with a responsive design that offers a tablet-specific experience. The redesign contributed to a 103% increase in monthly mobile traffic over the previous year. "You can have the best iPad app in the world, but if you give a really poor Web experience to your tablet users, you are letting them down," said Metro product development director Jamie Walters.
