US retailers, trade groups team on Bangladesh safety plan

Wal-Mart, Gap, Target and several other US retailers have teamed with trade groups including NRF to create a safety plan for Bangladesh factories. The effort will be headed by the nonprofit Bipartisan Policy Center and will seek to "develop and implement a new program to improve fire and safety regulations in the garment factories of Bangladesh," the group said Thursday.
