Though it may sound fanciful now, marketers of Microsoft's Xbox 360 are envisioning a day when advertisers will pony up big dollars to sponsor virtual online auto races and video game tournaments that attract hundreds of thousands of paying participants. Microsoft also envisions the Xbox 360 as serving as a media hub, via its movie and music functions.
