Group aims to create Bluetooth-enabled medical devices

The 19 firms within the Bluetooth Special Interest Group have created a working group to promote the use and compatibility of Bluetooth wireless technology in consumer electronic products with medical devices. The devices will allow consumers to monitor their health and send information to doctors or fitness specialists and also "represents a powerful business opportunity for companies creating Bluetooth enabled devices in a large and growing market segment," said the chair of the new Medical Devices Working Group.
