European Parliament, EU Council must reconcile AIFM directives

The European Parliament and the European Union Council, the two principal legislative bodies in the EU, approved their respective drafts of the Directive on Alternative Investment Fund Managers. The drafts need to be reconciled, with a vote on the final directive set for 6 July. However, because the bodies are still at odds on some key issues, the timetable could change.
