Interior Dept. details deepwater-drilling moratorium

The six-month ban on exploratory drilling in the Gulf of Mexico requires oil companies "to cease drilling new deepwater wells, including sidetrack and bypass activities," according to the Interior Department. Deepwater wells include wells at least 500 feet below sea level, the department added.
