Diesel gasoline additive could boost fuel efficiency

An energy startup in Rochester, N.Y., has discovered a chemical additive for diesel gasoline that could reduce the fuel's emissions and consumption by about 10%. The company says the compound cerium dioxide can balance out the combination of oxygen and fuel inside a diesel engine. The firm is coordinating with the federal government to market the additive.
