DOJ threatens to cancel flights if Texas enacts pat-down law

The Department of Justice has written a letter to legislative leaders in Texas warning that if they enact a law against airport security pat-downs, it might be forced to cancel flights to and from the state. The Transportation Security Administration would "likely be required to cancel any flight ... for which it could not ensure the safety of passengers and crew," said the letter from John Murphy, U.S. attorney for the Western district of Texas.
