HHS proposes rule to protect private medical records

HHS on Tuesday introduced a proposal designed to enable patients to obtain a report that would track who accessed their electronic health records. According to HHS officials, the new rule will set standards in securing the patient's medical records and provide safeguards against unauthorized disclosure of private health information.
