Location intelligence can be an asset for a business but only if used correctly, writes Arthur Berrill. Businesses must have realistic expectations about what location data can do and should avoid underestimating the amount of time and money it can take to implement LI applications, he writes. It's also important to make sure that technological bells and whistles don't become distractions, so that the company's LI efforts remain rooted in business goals, he adds.
