Sprint officially bids to stop AT&T's bid for T-Mobile

Sprint Nextel has been a vocal opponent of AT&T's proposed $39 billion deal to buy T-Mobile USA, but on Tuesday the carrier codified its opposition in a filing with the Federal Communications Commission. Sprint argued the takeover "would produce no tangible public interest benefits" and harm competition. AT&T replied with a statement that referred to a number of groups that back the deal.
