Transmission line would carry Kansas wind power to consumers

Clean Line Energy Partners is planning to develop a $1.7 billion high-voltage transmission line that would carry wind power from Kansas to southeastern Missouri. The Grain Belt Express power line would have the capacity to handle 3,500 megawatts, or enough power to supply 3.5 million households.
