Existing-home sales increase in U.S.

In April, sales of previously owned homes reached a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.97 million, the highest level in three and a half years, the National Association of Realtors says. During the past year, signed contracts, which usually result in a completed sale in one or two months, have increased 10.3%, the trade group says.
