Lawmakers lament recent failure of Okla. bills on contractors

A bill that died in the Oklahoma Senate would have required roofing contractors to obtain a $30,000 bond, while another measure would have set testing requirements for roofers and established a temporary-registration process. Rep. Mark McBride, the sponsor of the bill on bonding, said he has seen "fly-by-night contractors in my city" following the recent tornado outbreak. He plans to revive the measure next year.
