Middle-school girls learn about STEM careers

During a recent event, Susan R. Windham-Bannister, president and CEO of the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center in Waltham, was determined to dispel some gender stereotypes in science, technology, engineering and math careers, and she had some help from her peers. Through hands-on activities and motivational talks, female STEM professionals from various sectors worked to help attendees picture themselves as engineers, doctors and scientists.
