NSF issues grant to assist in creation of center for drying technologies

Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have received a grant from the National Science Foundation to support the establishment of the Center for Advanced Research in Drying, the first facility in the U.S. focused on developing technologies for taking the moisture out of porous materials. "Improving the energy efficiency of distillers grains drying is within the scope of the center," said project director Jamal Yagoobi. "We are also definitely interested in the dehydration of ethanol."
