Plastic surgeons perform double hand reattachment operation

Plastic surgeons at Stony Brook University Hospital reattached both hands on a 53-year-old man whose hands were nearly severed by a sheet metal machine called a power brake. Two surgical teams reconnected veins, arteries and nerves and replaced crushed nerves with cadaver nerves.
