Some blood clot-prevention measures not needed in bariatric surgery

An analysis in the journal JAMA Surgery did not find sufficient evidence to support the hypothesis that vena cava filters lower the risk of pulmonary embolism in patients undergoing bariatric surgery. Researchers reviewed 13 studies that looked at methods intended to prevent venous thromboembolism.
