UN's Heyns: Lethal autonomous robots need thorough assessment

United Nations Special Rapporteur Christof Heyns is calling on the UN Human Rights Council to appoint a committee to report on lethal autonomous robots in terms of technology and legality. "A decision to allow machines to be deployed to kill human beings worldwide, whatever weapons they use, deserves a collective pause," Heyns says.
