White House: Prices to drop as ACA injects competition into exchanges

The Obama administration said the Affordable Care Act will foster competition in health insurance exchanges across the country, putting downward pressure on prices. Approximately 90% of people who enter the exchanges next year can choose from five or more insurance company options, according to data released Thursday. "The early signs are promising and demonstrate a significant increase in competition and an array of options for consumers everywhere," according to a memo from administration officials.
