Property cleared to make way for new Fairfield, Conn., complex

Demolition is due to begin this month on a Fairfield, Conn., factory that is the future site of a new railroad station complex with a 175-room hotel, fitness center, retail pavilion and 200,000-square-foot office building. The project, being developed by Stamford, Conn.-based Wittek Development, is called Fairfield Metro Center and construction is set to begin next spring, with a completion date set for November 2007.
