Expanded Staten Island Ferry Terminal features green construction

A new terminal for New York City's Staten Island Ferry may be the first intermodel transportation hub to feature green construction efforts that qualify it for the LEED certification by the U.S. Green Buildings Council. The expanded St. George Ferry Terminal, which was officially unveiled May 20, features such LEED certifiable elements as rainwater collection to reduce runoff and irrigate vegetation.
