Seattle schools standardize math lessons

Seattle elementary students will be on the same page in math classes this fall after the school board voted to require teachers not only to use the same textbooks across the district but to cover material at the same pace. "Seattle desperately needs a consistent and balanced approach," board member Brita Butler-Wall said.
