Google weighs entry into e-reader market

Google is beginning to give book publishers the idea it wants to battle Amazon's Kindle in the nascent e-book market. Publishers might be happy about the competition. Google has said publishers will be able to set their own consumer prices if it develops an e-reader, which is not the case with the Kindle.
