Group's report says state regulations protect water resources

The Ground Water Protection Council has issued a report that says regulations on the oil and gas industry in the states studied adequately protect water resources. The report comes while Congress is considering whether to give the Environmental Protection Agency oversight of a key process in natural gas production; the American Petroleum Institute says the report illustrates that regulation is best left to states.
