Miami's South Beach tip emerges as relaxed but chic hot spot

SoFi, the nickname given to the South Beach area south of Fifth Street, has the feel of a gated resort without the forced exclusivity. The scene skews a bit older and has a European vibe rather than a Daytona Beach-during spring-break ambiance. Although much of South Beach is about partying, some residents and visitors alike make time to discover the view, relax at the hip restaurants and enjoy the amenities of the top-notch hotels.
