Pakistan turns attention to Taliban in other areas

Pakistani security forces have engaged with Taliban militants in South Waziristan, extending the government's offensive beyond the Swat Valley a day after the military announced it regained control of the area's largest city. U.S. officials, led by the special envoy for the region, Richard Holbrooke, will visit Pakistan this week to assess ways to help speed efforts to aid 3 million people uprooted by the ongoing hostilities.
