Students learn a lesson in layoffs

As schools lay off staff, students are feeling the effects, and are concerned for the well-being of their teachers who are facing unemployment. "We made this huge connection with him," said one student of Oregon middle-school teacher Steve Rice, who was laid off this spring. "I used to fail social studies. Now I'm getting A's."
