Asian markets decline as concern builds about China's economy

Share markets across the Asian-Pacific region fell Tuesday, with some of the sell-off coming because of concern about a potential cooling of China's economy. Japan's Nikkei 225 gave up 0.6%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropped 0.4% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index lost 1.4%. China's Shanghai Composite index fell 0.9%, South Korea's Kospi Composite slid 0.7% and Taiwan's Taiex shed 1.2%. New Zealand's NZX 50 and the Philippines' PSE Composite inched down 0.2%. India's Sensex was down 1.7%, shares in Indonesia gave up 2.2% and Thailand's SET lost 0.8% in afternoon trading.
