Plans for the multibillion-dollar Disneyland Shanghai are progressing. The government has almost completed the relocation of residents from the 3.9-square-kilometer area, a month ahead of schedule. Construction of new apartments for displaced residents has begun and is expected to be completed by August 2012. The first phase of the theme-park project has been estimated to cost about $3.66 billion. It may take five or six years for the park to be opened to the public.
