PhoCusWright's Consumer Travel Report Second Edition says about 11% fewer people traveled during the past year and those who did travel spent about 15% less. The research firm said recovery of the sector is likely to be restrained. "As travelers look ahead to the second half of 2010 and beyond, the general sentiment is clearly more positive than it was in 2009," PhoCusWright says. "Recovery has technically begun; but most travel companies still are not feeling much relief."
