Acid reflux starts with diet, lifestyle, experts say

While the body makes fewer digestive enzymes as it ages, the main reason for heartburn or acid reflux is a stressful lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits that include a diet loaded with fat, experts say. Gastroenterologist Rosa Cirillo says fighting acid reflux means eating healthy foods, having smaller and more frequent meals, and avoiding triggers, such as caffeine, alcohol and mint.
