Strategies for classroom success in June

For those whose school year winds down at the end of June, teacher Ariel Sacks suggests teachers approach June with a balance of vigilance and relaxation. Sacks recommends continuing to adhere to high standards of teaching and learning, but also bending the rules at times and using humor to keep students' attention. For example, when a student misbehaved in a recent class, Sacks asked her to stand by her seat and the bad behavior stopped.
