Monsanto shifts focus to biotech products

Despite heavy spending, management changes and marketing costs associated with biotech crops, Monsanto is determined to maintain its lead by devoting 80% of its more than $500 million in annual research and development costs to biotech crops. But competition is expected to challenge Monsanto's dominance of biotech corn and cotton.
