IPG to merge FCB and Draft

Interpublic Group announced the merger of its general services ad agency Foote Cone & Belding with direct marketing firm Draft. Draft's chairman and CEO Howard Draft will retain those positions as head of the combined company, Draft FCB Group. Steven Blamer, the current FCB chief executive, will leave after the merger is completed. IPG chairman and CEO Michael Roth said the combination of creative and direct marketing "is what clients are looking for -- the big idea that can be brought across all media, all channels, all distribution models."
