Microsoft places ads in Live Mail

Microsoft is adding an e-mail scanning function to its Windows Live Mail Desktop called Active Search designed to facilitate the delivery of advertising. Similar to Google's Gmail, the tool scans e-mails for keywords and then serves relevant advertising provided by Microsoft's partner, Kanoodle. Live Mail uses will be informed of the update, and will have the option of turning off Active Search.
