Airlines say emissions bill isn't the answer

The Senate today is expected to begin debating a measure that would require cuts in greenhouse-gas emissions. The system would affect airlines through even higher costs for jet fuel. "We want to do our part, but we just don't think that this is the answer," an Air Transport Association spokeswoman said. The ATA opposes the bill.
