ASTA to hold debate over cruise industry's financial future

At THE TRADESHOW in Orlando, Fla., in September, Adam Aron, chairman and CEO of World Leisure Partners, and Robert Simonson, a William Blair & Co. analyst, will lead a discussion about the cruise line industry's financial future. The debate is part of ASTA's first Retail Travel Leadership Summit. "As airline commissions lessened and finally went away altogether, many agents turned their sights to cruise sales," said executive vice president and COO of ASTA Bill Maloney, CTC. "As such, an open debate about the future of this market segment will provide much-needed understanding for the travel agency industry and its future, as well as that of the cruise lines."
