Booming Canada feels little of mild recession

Canada may be in the midst of a recession, though soaring exports of farm and fuel commodities mean few are feeling the pinch. The economy contracted 0.3% in the first quarter, and many analysts expect another small slide in GDP in the current quarter. The contraction comes at a time when unemployment is nearly the lowest in three decades, personal income is up, corporate profits are fat and government treasuries are filling with tax revenue.
