Traffic at Continental Airlines fell 9% in May, barely outstripping an 8.8% reduction in capacity. The carrier's load factor fell 0.3% compared to the same month last year. The company was affected especially by lower demand in its Mexico network in the wake of the H1N1 influenza outbreak. Continental carried 5.26 million passengers in May, and 83.5% of flights arrived on time.
