Dow says it will open chemical-safety measures to outside panel

Concerned that the chemical industry's Global Product Strategy safety system is flawed because it does not require independent scrutiny of data-collection processes, at least one company is looking to outside experts. Dow Chemical announced at a recent international meeting that it would allow outside experts to review its procedures for product-safety assessment.
